The Barrel is a local wine and whiskey restaurant rooted in tradition and community. a nod to times past when concepts like community, honoring the land and celebrating artisans mattered. With a dedication to exceptional hospitality, extensive wine and whiskey offerings paired with food that promises to awaken the senses, and a commitment to using the best product available. Our goal is to provide a dining experience that is unparalleled.


Management Team


Brandon Bohannan

Proprietor

Brandon is a north texas native having lived his entire life within 5 miles of bartonville. The barrel is his first step into the restaurant and hospitality industries.

Before creating the barrel, brandon built a number of companies. most recently, a home service technology platform, fixd repair, which he sold to angi in 2019.

when brandon is not in the restaurant, he works on other business ventures and his (terrible) golf game.

when the work is done, he loves spending time with his wife, morgan, and his 3 kids, emma, parker and baker.

Chef Jorge Romero

Executive Chef

A proud native of Mexico raised in the vibrant culinary hub of Chicago, Chef Jorge’s culinary journey has brought him to texas where he spent 18 years at michael’s restaurant in ft. worth before meeting Brandon. chef is passionate about using local texan produce and infusing the menu with his creativity and flair!

Blake Smith

Executive mixologist/ beverage director

Prior to joining the Barrel, Blake was the General Manager of Salernos in Highland Village for the past 3 and half years. Blake moved to Texas from Shreveport, LA in 2018.

In Shreveport, Blake managed high end resturant’s Chianti and Bella Fresca. Blake is a renowned bartender/ mixologist having his drinks featured in both local, state and national publications.

When he’s no t in the restaurant, Blake enjoys working out, music, eating, and drinking with family and friends.

ASSISTANT General Manager

Emily's journey has been shaped by a deep passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, and she firmly believes that the magic lies in the details. With an extensive background in hospitality, service, and even entrepreneurship through her own business ventures, she has honed her skills in connecting people. It brings her immense joy to create memorable moments for others, whether it's through personalized service or fostering meaningful connections between individuals.

She is also a dedicated wife and mother of two wonderful children, Grayson (12) and Adalyn (8).
